Supervision

All Counsellors and psychotherapists who work in accordance with the ethical guidelines as outlined by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) are required to engage in monthly clinical supervision.  The supervisor is available to ensure your counsellor’s well-being and will help the counsellor to make sure they are doing all they can to help support their client, within their training ability, to help and support you, the client, to gain the maximum benefit from therapy.  Supervisors also make sure that the counsellor understands their legal and ethical responsibilities towards you, the client.

This is to keep you, the client and the counsellor safe in all the work that you do together.  Identifying details are never disclosed.  If at any point you feel you have cause for concern, you can either raise this with your counsellor in the first instance and should you wish to verify any of the BACP’s legal and ethical guidelines, your counsellor will be able to let you see a copy.  Alternatively please check the BACP’s website for more information.

If you would like to book supervision with me, please contact me using the contact link above and we can arrange 1.5 hour monthly sessions.
